Over the years Bearded Florista's Phil & Don have provided flowers for many weddings and occasionally for men who marry men and ladies who marry ladies and in the words of Blur "Always for someone you really love" ~ Parklife album 1994.
18th July is forever more a day we help celebrate annually with The Hildas and back in 2015 was their spectacular wedding at The Burgh Island Hotel. These two very special friends aren't your typical lesbians because they fight for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. They successfully campaigned and lobbied government to permit marriage and equality act for same sex couples, which is a step up from Civil Partnerships.
We received an email from Bovey Castle with an invite to meet a couple getting married in a few months time (I know... last minute enquiries do exist) and we were asked to sign an NDA. After much publicity post-wedding, these two fabulous chaps married, 6th May 2017. Tom Daley known for World champion and Olympic diving and his husband Dustin Lance Black, American screenwriter, director, producer, and LGBT rights activist, contacted us to provide their wedding flowers at Bovey Castle.
We'll never forget these two divas Michelle Knight and Cathy Waite; They married Friday, 13th March 2020 and within days of their fabulous wedding at Hotel Tresanton, St Mawes, Cornwall, the world paused and effectively shutdown for what felt like a lifetime for the Covid-19 Pandemic. Phil and Don got hitched back in October 2019 after 21 years together. A very small gathering of just 9 friends and family helped celebrate their marriage followed by a large spontaneous party that evening at The BrewCo, Totnes
